Color Throwdown #312- If the Broom Fits....

Happy Wednesday everyone!! We're (well, I am) celebrating hump day with this week's Color Throwdown colors. Broni picked the colors this week and she is moving us into the Halloween season...

Wouldn't you just love a present packaged like that!!!

I jumped on the Halloween theme using some new Reverse Confetti goodies!! The sentiment (IN LOVE), witches hat, and broom are from RC Cast A Spell /corresponding dies and the "jagged" layer was made with RC's Treat Tote- lastly the stars used RC's Stars Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts which I first die cut and then die cut again with a circle die.

Used the RetroSketch from this week....

I know Arielle made an adorable Halloween card using this sketch- I was already on the Halloween theme with Broni's colors and wanted to use a sketch....did chose a perfect card to case, right!

Our Guest Designer this month...Tara Godfrey from Inking on the Edge - this girl knows how to layer and embellish!!

And the featured Stamper this week is Karren Johnson... you can find her blog here!

So glad to have you playing with us!!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog- Autumn/Fall

Double Good Morning!! We are starting a new month- can you believe it's October!! Halloween is just around the corner... Thanksgiving to follow and then, Christmas!! Oh... and the cold weather I am not looking forward to!

Before I move to fast... let's enjoy the current season! This month's Serendipity Stamps Challenge is a Autumn/Fall theme. As most of you know by now, Mary (owner) gives the DT an "extra" little challenge and this month was to use glue on our projects. Here's a link to the mixed media challenge using glue at SCS.

NOW... before you see my card, just know that this girl checked out the challenge and put every little brain cell to work....

I have to say, I used glue.... regular glue... and it never dried (we're talking over two weeks later never dried). I think I should have used a "hot" glue. Applied the glue in a random fashion.... sprayed with Heidi Swapp mists in Amethyst and Gold. When that didn't dry exactly right... I swiped SU Blackberry Bliss ink across the panel. When that didn't dry... I got rid of the excess by tamping down on my scrap paper.... still didn't dry totally.

Last thing for the learning books... when you use artificial light- this much gold is very hard to photograph!! It was totally fun to try something new but, I'm thinking I need a little more practice.

NOW... those fabulous leaves were die cut using Serendipity's Leaf Pop Dies- GORGEOUS!! And the sentiment is from Serendipity's Spring-Summer- Winter- Autumn set.

AND... we are welcoming the lovely Julia Stainton as our Guest Designer for October -Thrilled to have you joining us!!

Hoping you'll play... there are prizes :)

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and the theme of Autumn/Fall. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery.

This GIRL runs on Coffee!!

OK... my life revolves around coffee... at least in the early morning... with me? Used to be an all day thing but, the doctor cut me to 4 cups (that's dietician cups/measuring cups) a day.

So... when Verve released this coffee die... how could I resist?

TOO MUCH FUN... The Coffee die was cut three times and layered for dimension. Used the Verve inspiration pic and Viva la Verve sketch from week #3....

 The sketch...
I used the colors and the images from Peaceful Medallions reminded me of the sunflowers. The sentiment {dear to my heart} is from Verve's Coffee.

Also playing in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge... Anything Goes!

AND playing in the coffee lovers blog hop!! Can't believe I almost missed this.... have been hiding under a rock or work or ......
I am known for loving my coffee... interesting fact... I like it black with cream-real cream!! Over the years so many people have bought me the fancy flavored coffees (sweet thought every time) without realizing that it's the fairly "straight up" stuff I like. My fav is Starbucks- the really strong ones, Verona and Sumatra- every day of the week- first thing in the morning is to start the coffee maker so it's ready before I walk out the door. One year I splurged on Blue Mountain coffee- not sure if it's around now or not for my Christmas stocking and it was very smooth but, not very strong.
