Hey Girlfriend!!

Finally posting my card for Jen's SFYTT for April. Recently purchased some Unity Itty Bitty Stamps and one large set. Or, should I say... "I bought those a while back and they're just now getting here. Can you believe that? There must have been a problem with the mail." Okay, this does not work with my DH, he is waaaay paying too much attention!! I do ADORE the Unity stamps I bought, a whole "different flavor" for me, but, I love them.

This image is from their Itty Bitty Collection and it is called "Hey Girlfriend" {which is the sentiment on the inside, BTW}. The set has an image and the sentiment. The image was stamped in memento tuxedo black onto crumbcake dp and layer over a vanilla panel that was distressed with TH antique linen and popped up on top of the horizontal strips. DP is Cosmo Cricket's Upcycle. Added some divine twine from The Cats Pajamas and Upcycle/SU buttons.

Now.... just picture "Hey Girlfriend" on the inside!! Guess I was in a hurry, should have taken pics!!

Jen's sketch...

TFL!! Go Forth and Get Stampy!! {as Jody would say}

Ingredients
Stamps: Unity Itty Bitty Hey Girlfriend
Paper: CC Upcycle, vanilla, crumbcake
Ink: memento tuxedo black, TH antique linen
Accessories: divine twine, buttons {Upcycle and SU}

Best Wishes!!

Originally this would have been finished last night and posted but, my girls were visiting and keeping me busy!! Card is for the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge # 44. Used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the baja breeze and then sanded a little. The sentiment from Waltzingmouse Fancy Phrases is stamped in not quite navy on a nestie that is outlined with Waltzingmous Holiday Labels No. 14. Added baja breeze seam binding ribbon with a Lost & Found rhinestone button and some Prima flowers. Blue and yellow is not a color combo I would normally think of but, I like the combo... very pleasing to me!!

Here's the sketch....

TFL!! I know I've been saying this lately but, for some reason I've been so busy at work that I LOVE when Friday comes!!

Love when you stop by to visit!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Fancy Phrases and Holiday Labels No. 14

Sometimes the smallest things...

Take up the MOST room in your heart!! This sentiment just makes me "sigh" and think of little ones-my little ones aren't so little anymore (18 and 23) but, they will always be my little ones!! This sentiment is from Verve's PJ Smallest Things. How perfect is this for a baby card!! Used some OA Ducks in a Row dp... also "perfecto" for a baby card and didn't have any baby cards in my stash... needed one. Sentiment is stamped with memento tuxedo black on Verve's A Cut Above Vintage Oval Die, Heart is cut out with Verve's A Cut Above Jotted Heart Die, and flowers are cut out with Verve's Floral Circles Die. Added some lace, ribbon, and twine. Border was made with MFT's dizzy doily border die. Eeeks... used a bunch of dies on this. Sketch is Teresa Kline's from Verve's weekly sketches on SCS.

Honestly... wanted to add the sketch but, either my "computer" skills are bad or my computer doesn't want to cooperate!! Oh well... picture the sketch from my card-it's pretty true!!

TFL!!
Ingredients: blabbed it all again!!

You Quack Me Up!!

Trying to get my sketches done for the Verve weekly/monthly challenge in the SCS forum. There are weekly sketches posted and you have until the end of the month to make a card. If you participate in all the challenges and link them to the Champions thread, you are in a random drawing to win the next Verve release. Whoo Hooo... doesn't get any better than that!!

This card is for week 2 of April and the sketch is by Verve Diva Andrea. Now, I have to admit the rounded/square panel combo {will show you in a sec} just, really really "freezes" my brain and Verve Diva Jackie did one last month that I made a card for but, was never pleased with it. This month, I have used a little liberty in my interpretation!!! LOL!!

The sketch...

My card....

Have seen several of the Divas make little pockets out of Verve's Sweet Scallop die and have been wanting to do this.... the day came!! Stamped a couple of these adorable ducks from Verve's Lucky Ducky set {which I won, by the way... I wasn't joking about those weekly/monthly sketches on the SCS forum!!} Then, colored them with copics- coloring a little fuzzy here on purpose, cut them out and used crystal effects on their bills. The sentiment is on a Classy Label Die and added some Viva Decor pearls as an outline {I don't do well with liquid pearls-- this is a little more expensive but, I get much better control}. Added some stitching, a bow, and gold pearls to finish.

Ha... square/rounded panels.... there's always more than one way to skin a chicken!! Is that even a saying??

TFL!! Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday... if you're like me - today is Thursday as I'm off Friday and predicting rain around here... excellent stamping day!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Verve Lucky Ducky
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Salt Air, crumbcake, vanilla
Ink: copics, crumbcake
Accessories: Verve Sweet Scallop die and Classy Label die, gold pearls, Viva Decor liquid pearls, stitching, SU retired ribbon, crystal effects

That's Just Crappie !!??

MFT's weekly sketch challenge {trying to catch up as last week was busy for me}... used an Al la Mode "Something's Fishy". I Love these Al La Mode's as much as I Love the PI's. Made a 5.25 x 5.25 card as I wanted to use a couple trees {MFT tree die-namics}!! Added some clouds using the MFT cloud die-namics with MFT felt, colored with copics, added sentiment and button combo with twine. Colored the "crappie" twice, cut the second one out and adhered the top and "flipped" the gills out a little to add some dimension.

Ingredients
Stamps: MFT Al la Mode Something's Fishy
Paper: white, early espresso, Stella & Rose Hattie
Ink: early espresso, copics
Accessories: MFT cloud and tree die-namics, buttons, TCP twine

TFL!! Had fun stampin'...even a little everyday makes me smile... how about you??

Verve Get Your Diva On!!!

Okay... a while back I got the Verve Diva Dare and Get Your Diva On titles just a "smidgen" reversed!! Knew the challenge I was participating in but, got the names wrong.... early Alzheimer's you ask?? No, not yet!!

Now, it is time for the Verve Get Your Diva On challenge. Technical information here. This month Amber is hosting and she gave us a recipe challenge- recipe determined by the first letter of your first name. Here it is..

I have done one other recipe challenge and I have to say... it is a challenge for me!! I lay everything out and then, have this desire to add or change something. As well, my recipe {V for Vickie} gave me cardstock colors of turqoise, blue, and cream. Not only did I not have any dp (I fibbed, I found one similar dp after I made the cards)- I don't use a lot of blues but, when I do it is usually mixed with other colors. Definitely a challenge for me. Amber gave us an option to "switch" one category with one of the others and I seriously thought about it but, decided I wanted to see if I could make a card within my recipe.

My recipe:
  • ribbon, buttons, rhinestones
  • cream, turqoise, blue
  • 4 layers or any other shape
My card...

Stamped the largest and medium flowers/stems/leaves from Verve's Many Blessings twice on vanilla and colored with copics. Cut out one set and popped on top of the original. Leaves were adhered at the bottom and pulled out to give some dimension. Added some buttons to the center of the flowers. Cream background is embossed witha SU embossing folder. Added turqoise ribbon and lace with a sunburst rhinestone on top.

After I finished... started thinking {stinkin' thinkin'} and wondered if my sentiment panel would count as a layer {I think NOT personally} and I added the lace!!

So, I made another card trying to be "truer" {don't really think that's a word} to my recipe.

For this one I used the flowers from Verve's Kind Words and sentiment from Wordy Birds {stamped on a Verve vintage oval die that was spritzed with smooch}. Added rhinestones to the flower centers, some crinkly ribbon and a button. Background is embossed with a SU texture impression plate and spritzed with smooch.

Little harder to take pics with a cream on white background... we'll see how it turns out when I post.

TFL!! Hope you're had a wonderful weekend!! I just got back from a short trip to celebrate a momentous {40th} B-day with a friend!! Had a great time!!

If you stop by, leave a comment, love to hear from you and appreciate all your sweet comments!!

Cheerio!!

Have been a busy little bee this week on the homefront but, I found time to do the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge this week. If you haven't checked WMS out, you need to... lots of sweet sets {nestie compatible and otherwise}.  I used Fancy Phrases and Bitty Banners for my card.

The gorgeous dp is from Prima's Madeline collection. Added some lace and PTI Hawaiian Shores ribbon along with a Prima flower "glitzed" up.

eta: the gorgeous pink flower is perfect in color but, IRL it doesn't look so BIG on the card!! Yikes... looks like a monster flower landed in the pic!!
Here's the sketch

TFL!! Just think.... tomorrow's FRIDAY!!

If you stop by, leave a comment. Love hearing from you!!

Moxie FAb Tuesday Trigger

This week's Moxie Fab trigger is this adorable quilt all laid out on a rocking chair...

Okay... so it's not a "rocking chair"... would be perfect if it was!! Sitting on the front porch all wrapped up, think about it!! Actually, I have some handmade quilts and afghans and it's hard to use them but, when I do, I feel a "wrapped" up with a lot of love!! Loved the colors and flowers. Here's my card...

Used Verve's flowers from the set Great Friends. Stamped the flowers in so saffron, more mustard, marina mist, bashful blue, rose red, and regal rose. Added bunches of pearls and some ribbon.

TFL!! Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!!

Viva La Chloe...

Won Verve's last release playing in their weekly sketch challenge on SCS. Make a card using the sketch each week, upload at the end of the month, and there's a random drawing... winning Verve's next release!! WhooHoo!! I have been dying to use the basket in the Chicks Rule set so... combining the week 1 sketch by Amber and Chloe {she's the cute little chick in the basket}... here's my card

Stamped the basket and Chloe in crumbcake. Masked Chloe and stamped the flowers in crumbcake. Colored Chloe and the flowers with copics. Added some crystal effects to the center of the flowers. The basket was stamped again on Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe dp and paper pieced. Love this dp... it's so springy and gorgeous!! Flower for Chloe's hair punched with the SU itty bitty flower punch and added some hot pink irridescent pearls from Pizzazzaplenty.

Verve also has a monthly challenge called "Dare to Get Your Diva On" this month is Think Spring. You can check it out here. There are prizes to be won.... GO check it out!!

Amber's sketch

TFL!!

Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!! DH and I went looking at trees {the tree we had arborists do minor surgery on didn't make in the 60-90 mile/hour winds last week, at least it only landed on the deck and not the house} and bought some flowers to spruce things up!! Love spring!!

If you stop by, leave a comment... makes my day!!

Paper: crumbcake, vanilla, Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe

Hurrah!! Bravo!!

Made a little {3 x 3} set of cards for the WaltzingMouse sketch challenge this week and Moxie Fab World has a challenge to make a card gift set. Had fun working/thinking about this!! Decided that I would  combine these two challenges. Haven't done a little set of gift cards in a long while and it's interesting to think in a "smaller" frame of mind. Decided to go more on the CAS side, which is a bit out of the norm for me but, I really like the way everything turned out. Pics aren't the greatest... so, I need to become a professional photographer you say!!??

My set...

Cards are 3 x 3 sahara sand with a 2 3/4 sahara sand square layer on top- embossed with Quikkutz dots embossing folder. Added some retired SU ribbon with buttons and twine {mixing and matching}. Sentiments from Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phrases {aren't they adorable!!}!!

Gift card box was made with a tutorial on SCS by Laurie Schmidlin- left it CAS to go with the cards.

Here's the WMS sketch.... I took a little liberty!!

TFL!! Tomorrow's Friday!!

Stamps: WMS Fancy Phrases

A Couple of Cards...MFT style

Did a little stamping this weekend and I have two MFT cards. One is for the monthly Guest DT challenge "shabby chic" and the other is for the weekly sketch challenge on SCS.

Shabby...

Used several MFT die-namics. The sentiment is from MFT's Clearly Sentimental About Love... several sets along this line with wonderful sentiments. Went for a pink, gray, vanilla color combo. Added a Victorian tag from Etsy {will find the link and post}, some MFT felt rolled roses {MFT rolled roses die-namic}, a dizzy doily die-namic from MFT, distressed edges and distress inked edges with TH antique linen, SU ribbon stitched onto crochet trim.

Weekly sketch... hoping the MFT sketch police aren't out, LOL!!

I WAS following the sketch and then, I got to playing and realized after that the vertical panel with the dizzy doily border die-namic was supposed to be horizontal, oops!! Oh well, I still had fun!! This is one of my fav PI's!! Flower uses the new posie die from MFT {came in the VIP release}, layered a couple and added a baby braddie to anchor. Added a blue flower with a baby braddie to her top!!

TFL!! Hope you're having a wonderful Monday..... week has begun but, 1 down!!

Up, Up, & Away...

Second post... this is for the Moxie Fab World's in my beautiful big balloon!! Live close to Statesville, NC and they have a balloon festival... DH and I went a few years back!! Looking up in the sky and seeing all the gorgeous balloons!! Here's my little contribution to the feeling...

Used Verve's Up, Up, & Away set. Paper pieced the baloons with some masking. Stamped and cut out the clouds after coloring with a blender pen in a loose fashion. Gras was done using MFT die-namic in a couple of different greens.

TFL!!

Paper: black, vanilla, melon mambo, BG Olivia
Ink: memento tuxedo black

Moxie FAb... Tuesday Trigger

This week's Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World is clean and simple {simple or intricate??}. I usually do not lean towards CAS but, trying to stretch my wings a little. Did you know that sometimes you have to think "harder" - for want of a better word, when you do CAS!! For some of you this may come easily but, for me... I'm used to adding, adding, adding!! Love to play with my stuff. Here's the trigger...

I went with the vertical image and focal point in the lower right corner. Used red and marina mist {gorgeous blue IMHO}. Lots of "vanilla" space on this card. Focal image are these gorgeous poppies I got from Wild Orchid Crafts... talk about some yummy lace and flowers!!

TFL!! Having a wonderful weekend... except for a little mishap at the restaurant the other night!! Friday night..last minute decision to go out for dinner, 30 minute wait so DH and I sat at the bar for a drink. A woman came in and the floors were so slick, she almost fell. To the table, excellent prime rib, and a trip to the bathroom before driving home... yes, you guessed I totally wiped out in front of several people. Now, not only is that an embarassing moment but, I have a thumb and knee that aren't feeling wonderful!! Oh well, things happen and the prime rib was excellent!!

Ingredients
Stamps: WMS Victorian Frippery, WMS Vintage Circles Small
Paper: vanilla
Ink: marina mist, black
