Loved

Started on this card a bit ago and planned to finish and post this week but, life got in the way, it happens!! The gorgeous image is from The Crafts Meow-Nina B Designs and I just adore it!! Practiced a bit of coloring with copics. Colors are for the CR84FN challenge to use medium pink, tan, and cream.

Stamped the bottom panel in versamark onto crumbcake using a Herringbone patter from Waltzingmouse Stamps- Heirloom Patterns. Tag was created using a die from My Favorite Things nd sentiment from the same set as the image- The Crafts Meow Cherished. Added some ribbon from PTI and pearls from my stash.

Hoping to get a little stampin done this weekend as my niece is stopping by on her way to New England and I'll be busy cooking and entertaining!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

I Spy a Butterfly!!

Good Friday morn'!! Yippee it's Friday and for me that means a weekend is almost here and a little free time!! Kick starting the weekend with the 13th installment of I Spy Sketches. This is the sketch challenge where we come looking for YOUR cards for inspiration!! This week the sketch is based on this card from Dawn Mercedes (dawnmercedes @ SCS).

It has been a long and busy week for me and probably too much chat on the blog today (didn't get to play with some of my fav challenges). I did get my I Spy card done and I'm thinking this special secret agent might have gotten a little carried away with all the bright colors.... due to stampin withdrawal, LOL!! And, that butterfly went through 5 reincarnations....have you ever had those moments?? Final butterfly...Verves' butterfly (All Aflutter) in pink and stamped with the dots from Bountiful Backgrounds and heat embossed with clear, then topped with the smaller butterfly in that designer paper and added a little bling! Bling's good! The seam binding is from the Ribbon Carousel (5 yards for 1.50 and lots of colors and a buncha' other fabulous goodies... just sayin') and I love the gorgeous color-wondering if I should have gone with my blue - also a gorgeous color- to "tone it down a little"?

from Melyssa Connoly (croppixie @ SCS)

My card...

Still playing with some MME papers (a titch older line but, still love them) and the images/sentiment are from a Nina B design from The Crafts Meow...Sent With Love. Yes, happy mail came last week and I've played a little. Used to tell my husband I got a "treasure" and now it's "happy mail"- I'll say Ohh that's Happy Mail and he'll look at me and say...A treasure, right... my response "Of course"

Je t'aime!!

Thursday at my house is WMS sketch time.... I know, I need to change it up-I've been early a couple times, right?

Honestly... this is the third card change in the last little bit... struggling with that lower right corner... not sure why... but, that's the truth, LOL!! Used a couple new WMS stamps...  Florentine Frippery (heart) and French Country (seems I'm twitterpated with this set!!) Colors are Julia's for this weeks SCS color challenge- whisper gray sand. Background images- bottom border stamped with SU gray, top stamped with SU crumbcake (stamped off but, not perfectly on purpose to get the gradient of color)- both images from WMS French Country. Heart image was stamped in SU gray and again stamped off but, not perfectly to get gradient image and layered on circle nesties. Added  lace border with lace from Wild Orchid Crafts and SU crumbcake seam binding. Sentiment stamped in gray on MFT flag and layered over another flag (Award Ribbon Die-namic). That's the scoop!!!

You ARE Beautiful!!

This card is for a few challenges (whoohoo, right!) The sketch is Verve's week one sketch for April by Diva Amber on SCS, colors are for the PDCC127 color challenge this week-- lots of bright colors and ones I wouldn't normally mix and the Ribbon Carousel's (RCC49) Color-a-licious challenge this week for bright colors and, of course, ribbon-twine-twill etc.

My card..

Several Verve stamps were used to make this card. Stamped the outline from Verve's Making a Statement onto a die cut with Verve's Rounded Scallop Frame. The yellow square is die cut from Verve's Rounded rectangle. The sentiment was stamped onto a die cut with Verve's Curvy Bookplate die after being stamped with the outline from Verve's Tag Time set. Lastly, sentiment is from Verve's Fabulous You set.... phew... that's a whole buncha Verve, LOL!!

Here's Ambers' sketch....

And, here's the PDCC color story- which matches the Ribbon Carousel bright color-a-licious theme.

Tomorrow's hump day!! Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

ISSC11--Sunny Days

April 13 - I Spy Sketch Challenge 11 is from Julia Stainton (Julia S @ SCS) and is based on this card. Isn't it fabulous!! For my card I changed the layers a little because a wanted the full flowered dp for the back panel. It was stitched and distressed with a distresser and my nails. So the next panel was mixed and I stitched a zigzag across the two pieces... think it got covered up though! Papers are My Minds Eye-Miss Carolina-Howdy Doody (lovin' this line)! The flowers are from Verve's Sunny Days set and were stamped randomly on the white panel and again on white cardstock with old olive ink. All were colored with copics. The second set was fussy cut and popped on top after making some slits to pull petals up and dimension. Finished the flowers off with buttons. Sentiment was stamped in old olive and heat embossed with clear. Added some crinkly ribbon to finish it off. I was in the mood for something bright and sunny (spring is in the air) for this week's sketch....how'd I do?

The Risk to Bloom....

The risk not to post in time.... from my perspective!! Card was created using the weekly Verve sketch hoseted by Betty Wright (stampin to the wright) challenge using the CR84FN color challenge of pink-peach-lt. blue. Both of these challenges are some of my favs but, I have been not quick enough...

I was originally thinking that's a soft peach but, did not have ink or paper that light and so, Plan B... live close to South Carolina and they are known for their peaches-deep... deep rich color... SU's Peach Parfait was perfect. Used Verve's Making a Statement (grid, loopy bloom stamping) and Loopy Bloom dies along with one of Verve's Plain Janes that I adore/love/have used so much it is terribly stained :)) Added a MFT oval die-namic and flag tags. Bling isn't shining in the pic as much as it does IRL... dang!!

The CR84FN colors

Betty's Verve week 2 sketch...

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!! Repeating myself but, come back tomorrow for the weekly I Spy sketch... we come looking for your creations and created sketches based upon them!!

birthday...Waltzingmouse style!!

This week's sketch was created by Karin Akesdotter (peppermint patty) and it included a banner... yeah!! I love these but, haven't made any myself until recently.... don't ask me why... I don't know!! Still on a MME Miss Caroline kick and used papers from Howdy Dowdy. Paired them up with WMS's Bitty Banners and Say it Loud!!

Banners were stamped in SU cherry cobbler, daffodil delight, and baja breeze- glued to jute twine. Distressed a couple layers, stamped the sentiment in SU early espresso and fussy cut. Popped some layers. Love the contrast of "barn siding" against the bright colors and patterns.

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!! Tomorrow's Friday, YIPEE!! Along with Friday comes a new I Spy sketch so stop back by and check it out!!

ISSC10- Birthday Wishes!!

Good Friday morning!! Literally!! Hope you have a special weekend planned with family and/or friends. I'm working Friday and Monday... things are a little crazy at work right now but, do plan an Easter dinner. This week's I Spy sketch was inspired by.... Debbie Olson (debbiedesigns on SCS)  is based on this card  and how perfect is that!!

Here's my take..

Not a lot of stamping except for the wonderful sentiment from Verve's Making A Statement (LOVE). Scallops were made with MFT's scallop die-namic and used some Dear Lizzy tissue paper (different to work with and probably easier on scrapbook layouts... (i cut and pitched a little--aka redid the card a few times). Added Dear Lizzy buttons and brads. Ribbon is Hawaiian Shores from PTI.

Here's the sketch...

Naked Card....

Got your attention?? Well, that's how I felt when it was done. I wanted to stamp another teacup and color and pop on top- add a little dp... and lace would've worked LOL!! The Waltzingmouse sketch challenge was a DOOZY this week... ONE layer card!! I did have to add some twine and a button (it's naked too)!!Honestly I LOVE CAS and I have drooled over some fabulous CAS cards... it's just a little tough for me!!
Thought to self... "don't get your panties in a wad" ... move on!

My card....

Haven't colored in a while and these were new copic colors... need to work on the blending a bit. The images and sentiment are from WMS Afternoon Tea Sentiments. Looking at the card as I'm writing this and still want to add some dimension... thinking I need therapy- I have stuff and tools and I want to use them, LOL!!

Yep... here's the One Layer sketch...

Hope you have a wonderful Good Friday and Easter Weekend!! I'm working tomorrow and Monday- busy times!! You have until tomorrow at noon to make a card for the WMS challenge so "don't get your panties in a wad" and go Do it, LOL!!
