WPlus9 MMB and Retrosketches...

Had a chance to make a card. whoo hoo!! Busy week and missed a couple of challenges that recently I have enjoyed playing with...so

Played with my WPlus9 stamps/dies and made a card using the Retrosketch {tonite's the deadline and I'm squeezing it in}. Heat embossed the doily image from WPlus9 Lacey Layers onto a blue background--just love this look. For the panel- embossed the red CS with swiss dots {old time fav} and adhered onto white cardstock that I stamped with a sentiment from WPlus9 Blanket Stitched Blooms. Love the fonts!! Die cut some blooms {matching dies} and stamped with images from Blanket Stitched Blooms. The red/white panel and the blooms are all popped up for some dimension.

Here's the WPlus 9 inspiration pic... went with the colors and doily, turned the twine into stitching, buttons became flowers.

The sketch...

Have a busy WE ahead... hoping to go out for a little spin on the boat!!

Another Viva la Verve card

I still have my blog candy up.... will run through the 31st and then, pick a winner!! Will contact the winner via email/announce here also!!

'Kay still trying to find my mojo... haven't stamped at all for a few days so...my mind becomes a titch blank.... well, there may be other days when I'm overloaded and get a little "blank" by evening!!

Played with some new Verve and created a card for the week 2 sketch by Christyne.

Papers are Glitz Cashmere Dame... I have had  these for forever and not used them.... if "Hoarders" ever came to my house... they would find a bunch of patterned paper pads. The colors are wonderful (reds, blacks, greens, light blues)!! The background was embossed with a SU fan folder and then sanded, added a doily and scallop border using dies from MFT. Flowers and sentiment from Verve's Let it Be. I was in a pearl mood...

The sketch...

Verve weekly sketch challenge!

I still have my blog candy up.... will run through the 31st and then, pick a winner!! Will contact the winner via email/announce here also!!

Well, I had high hopes for this long weekend to stamp a lot but, things just don't always work out the way we want them to. I have this inner ear problem (throwing off little calcium deposits) that can make you dizzy.... major dizzy! Only happens about once a year.... thank goodness!!

Anywho- this is a card that I worked on a while ago for the Verve weekly sketch challenge-May-on SCS.

I turned it into a square card and took a little liberty with the heart (flowers/leaves) but, the basic sketch is there. Still loving these Fancy Pants Park Bench papers!! The leaves were die cut with Verve's Dreamy Leaves die, stamped with the image from Dream Big and heat embossed with clear. The flower image is from Sunny Days and it was stamped on patterned paper. Sentiment is from Because of You. I think I started this card around Mothers Day and was thinking of my mom!!

Here's Amber's sketch...

Now, the dizzyness abated a bit today and we were able to go out on the boat for a ride and to lunch!! First of the season for me!! Oh, how I LOVE summer!!

Let Your Light Shine!!

It's Wednesday- we're halfway there and here in the US it's a long weekend- yippee!!

This card is for the Verve Diva Dare challenge- to use Stars and Stripes with an extra twist {if you're courageous!!} of making a CAS card. Well, the CAS has stressed my brain a titch too much lately....

I pulled out a couple "oldies but goodies" to make this card. The stars are from Verve's Seeing Stars and the sentiment is from Starstruck. Sentiment was stamped on a Verve Banner Bundle die. I used SB star dies {the two larger images don't fit the die perfectly but, I liked the offset look}. Papers are Authentique Glory. Yes, I went traditional here with the colors!!

I used Charmaine's week 3 Viva la Verve sketch....

you're so yummy!

Happy Sunday afternoon. It's a rainy day here so perfect for stamping! Although maybe not so good for photography (even with ott lights).

Pulled out Waltzingmouse Stamps Big Berries-Strawberries. Stamped the berry onto whisper white cardstock and fussy cut- the stem was stamped onto patterned paper but, I added a little shading with copics. This was popped on top of a circle nestie. Added some flag banners using MFT Flag Stax and a few brads in the corner. Sentiment is from the same WMS set.

Used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown challenge of real red, daffodil delight, kiwi kiss, and tempting turquoise. The sketch is Jen's Deconstructed sketch.

WMS BLog Party!!

This month the WMS Blog Party is all about Teacher Appreciation... it's the end of school...or close anywho... spring has sprung and summer is just days away....

Now, my girls are all grown up but, there were many... many.... teachers along the way that I LOVED!! When I visited (quite often- picking up, B-Days, Teacher conferences. volunteering... school trips.... etc. etc.)- they KNEW my girls!! Maybe not quite as intimately as I did but... ohhhh-- they "had their number"--- knew how to "call them on something"- ya' know what I'm saying!- and at the same time encouraged their individual uniqueness!!

Here's my contribution....

I've been ogling some notecard sets out in blog land and decided to create my own for the blog party. Did some resist embossing and sponging with distress inks. Love the font on these sentiments. The card holder was created with coordinating colors... just cut 1/4 inch larger on all sides, scored with my ScorPal, adhered with sticky tape, added some coordinating papers, button, and twine on the front. Tucked the cards inside.

Couple pics of the notecards...

Side of panel was stamped with an image from Chicken Wire or Text It in Adirondack Slate. Flowers (Vintage Garden Seed Packet and Vintage Garden Flowers) were stamped with WPlus9 white ink and heat embossed with clear. Sponged various distress inks to loosely color the stems and flowers. Finished with sentiments from Vintage Garden Seed Packet and Camellia. Papers are Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.

Here's the link to WMS- there are lots of goodies!!

I have this problem.... I buy things 'cause I Love them...that includes chipboard collection/s -don't have a lot-but, some :)) so I challenged myself to create something rather than "collect"- here's the card

I even added a fabric button that has been in my stash for a while!! The layout is from a previous Cardabilities sketch. Used some spring colors, a little stitching, a little lace, and a button.

thinking of you

The Cloud9 inspiration pic for this month is scrumptious... literally!! These are some gorgeous cookies...

Can you believe those are cookies... yes, edible... they are so gorgeous though it might be hard to take a bite!! Not that they're bad... but, so perfect...

My card....

Made my own background using WPlus9's Paisley Patterns (these are smaller images in this set--it's jam packed with different options). The flowers were made using the Very Vintage Florals die- cut six of the largest flower, misted with water, scrunched and left to dry. The inner flower is the smallest die, again misted with water and scrunched. All popped up on jodys dimensionals. Added some Verve Dreamy leaves and SU ribbon. Sentiment comes from WPlus9's Very Vintage Greetings. You can check out all the WPlus9 goodies here.

Link to the blog hop above.

Hope you're having a great WE!! Hubs had another rotator cuff surgery (that's 3 in 10 months) on Thursday and  he was climbing the walls- okay, maybe not climbing the walls but, he was wearing down the shine on the wood floors and the carpet was getting thin with hispacing-- so, we ran errands today.. all over-- many errands--about 5 hours of errands!!

Thank You!!

I went bright and beautiful tonight making a card for the current RetroSketch {squeaking it in} using some WPlus9 goodies that I had from a previous attempt that never worked out-- time wise!!

Mirror image of the sketch. The tag was stamped with the block image from Chantilly Lace onto a die cut from the Tag die set. The flowers and leaves were die cut with felt from Very Vintage Florals dies and added a couple buttons and one brad--- love the variation in the embellies. Sentiment is from Very Vintage Greetings and heat embossed to make it "pop" against the black.

The sketch...
Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

My wonderful husband just had his third rotator cuff surgery since last July-- this one was done arthroscopically-- less pain indeed!! I snuck this card in between "being a nursemaid"!!

Happy Father's Day!

Was going through a "little" Waltzingmouse stamps withdrawal and had not inked/played with the new sets enough and... thought the Deconstructing Jen Sketch would be perfect for a CAS Father's Day card. Used the newly released Man of the Hour set.

Stamped "Happy Father's Day" in SU Midnight Muse and the additional sentiment in Baja Breeze. Banners were made with Verve's Banner Bundle die. Embossed the white with a spot embossing folder and added a couple MME chipboard buttons with twine. CAS but, perfect for a "man card"!!

The sketch...

It's still raining here.... geesh- we have the boat ready to go!! Hopefully the sun will be shining soon-- still glad it's warmer though!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Cool Beans-Crazy Cool!

Still getting some stamping done and had a chance to play in the Color Throwdown this week. The colors are ballet blue, apricot appeal, lucky limeade, wisteria wonder, and pool party.

My card..

I've been needing to practice my coloring and I haven't inked up this MFT Doodle Garden Far Out so today was the day!! She was stamped with early espresso onto XPress It Blending cardstock and colored with copics. My hair skills still need work but, when I was done I decided to add a little doodling with my black copic liner--kinda' fun!! The pool party was stamped with LJD Darling Dots using versamark (doesn't show up as well in the pic) and the lucky limeade was stamped with LLD Border It-Mod Borders using versamark. Added a studio calico wood chip and arrow die (MFT Lead the Way) with a clothespin.

Hope you having a relaxing Sunday. Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Happy Friday...

Yes... Fridays are a HAPPY day at my house!! Not that I don't like/love my job but.... it's ME time, FAMILY time...y'all know what I mean!!

I've been wanting to play with WPlus9s Monday Mood Board all week (missed last week) and the Retro Sketch sooo... when I got home tonite it was time to "skedaddle" and "get to it"

Dawn's Mood board is all about neutrals and textures. I didn't add as much texture as I would have like but, when I kept placing things on the card (hearts, buttons etc.)... it just didn't "jell"!

Stamped several images from WPlus9s Paisley Patterns onto white cardstock with WPlus9s fabulous white ink--- honestly love this stuff!! The ink doesn't stick and smear like a lot of other white inks. Sentiment is from Quite Like You stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and heat embossed with clear. Added some seam binding and twine. Elements from the Mood Board--colors, twine, and ribbon. Pretty much CAS for me but, I like it.... makes the colors and Paisley Patterns shine!!

Verve Week 3 and Diva Dare!

Happy Hump Day!! Things are gloriously looking up at work... Cecilia is onboard and learning curve is high!! If that doesn't make sense... takes 2 to run my small department... important but, small--when one leaves-- it's heck (200% productivity) so, she is a blessing- both in time and talent and willingness to do what it takes!!

Back to the business at hand... Started this card a couple weeks ago and finally finished!! Used Diva Christyne's sketch for week 3 of the Verve weekly sketch challenges on SCS AND was thinking of the Verve Diva Dare when I was making it.

Had some fun layering it up!! Verve goodies-- Scalloped Trim Trio die, Curvy Bookplate die, Flutterby die, So Fluttery stamps, Tag Time border stamp, and sentiment from Fabulous You. A whole lotta Verve! Added some brads (nod to Christyne- that girl works brads!) and a butterfly (nod to Marissa (butterfly, flower Queen) and Charmaine (bright colors-- mine are a little "deeper" but, bold nonetheless!).

The sketch....

Even though I worked on this a while ago... the Universe (oh yeah!) was against me but, I think I'm squeaking it in just in time!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!
