FAITH can move mountains!!

Trying to squeak another card in... are you a quick card maker... sit down and "do it all" in one setting...I can do that if the setting is a few hours! Otherwise.. I piddle- start one, start the next, start the next and come back and decide. So, I've been out of town and didn't get to piddle....

Started this card for the Verve Diva Dare using the Viva la Verve sketch week 2 with Charmaine.      Just now finishing..

"Kay I am a patterned paper addict... admit it... love it... and had to play with some. Verve dies- banner, scalloped trim trio, Goodness Flowers, Verve stamps- Let It Be and Surely Goodness (whenever I hear the Surely Goodness- have to add on "shall follow me all the days of my life")

Charmaine's sketch...

The Diva Dare is to incorporate Teresa's shabby/distressing with Julee's uplifting sentiments...now if I had more time- I should've added some mixed media- have collected all kinds of stuff but, need to get my fingers inky!!

Details/links later- under the wire one more time this week.... have you ever been there?

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Serendipity Stamps Release!!

Good Wednesday morn'... it's even better as I have some new Serendipity stamps to show today... YIPPEE!! The DT is having a hop today and I am the start. If you get lost long the way, go to the Serendipity blog for a list/links of everyone participating. AND there are prizes!!

I've got a few pics... hang in there!

We'll call it Christmas/Fall in July with a fun addition!! I'm showcasing the Christmas in July and a fun sentiment!!

First up is this fabulous tree... LOVE!! So whimsical...aren't those curly cues on the ends of the branches fabulous and the swirly snow!!

Stamped the image a couple of times and colored with copics, the tree was popped up with foam dots and then, I added another tree to the inside leaving the ends of the branches loose. Used traditional Christmas colors, added a lot of layers, some stitching, and a big ole' bow. The star was stamped several times, fussy cut, glittered in bronze and popped up everywhere... having too much fun!!

Here's the inside...

Next up is  a snowman/snowwomen :)

Used some non-traditional colors on this one. Stamped the image, colored with copics and fussy cut.. The snowman was inserted between some patterned paper hills and popped up for dimension. The background textured paper was stamped with a Serendipity snowflake (enlarge the pic- the detail is fabulous) and heat embossed with white.

My last card... was a bit of fun!!

Mary created this sentiment to go with... well, anything!! This is my scrappy card.

And, the inside....

Was thinking about my sis when I made this one... she has a BIG B-Day coming next year and... party plans are a week at a house at Hilton Head (looking at 16- that's a big week long party for us) .... didn't have to twist my arm to go to the beach!!

If you lasted this long, thanks!

Prizes-- One random commenter will receive the complete set of the new 4 rubber cling stamps. They have until 12 pm on 8/4 to leave a comment. Winner will be announced on the Serendipity blog on 8/5.

The next stop along the hop is Anya Schrier-- always inspiring -- can't wait to see what she created!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Thanks chickie!!

I've been gone out of town and Waltzingmouse Stamps is having a...

I almost missed it....

I didn't find out until the night I was leaving but, I started on this "scrappy" card for a CASE study challenge using WMS Funky Feathers in a "funky" way and never had the chance to finish and post. One of the pajama party challenges is to use feathers. Had fun doing something different although the jury is still out on the overall effect!

More details later.... down to the wire on this one :)

SSCB #16--- Just Because!!

I LOVE this image!!

Happy Wednesday... not only is it "Hump Day" but, it's the next installment in the Serendipity Stamps Challenge... WOOT WOOT! This week it's all about fabric... that is use fabric on your creation but, not ribbon {felt, burlap, canvas, material - you get the idea!}

Mine's a little clean and simple... BUT I adore this image and I think it is most striking in a CAS card!! The pottery reminds me of the Southwest or all those boutiques/craft showrooms with handmade and hand painted pottery.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black and heat embossed with clear {makes the images/outlines stronger} and colored just a titch with copics. The coloring was purposeful- adding some color but, keeping the images the focus. Stamped the image again and cut out the flower jar and adhered it on top with foam dots.  Then, I spritzed with a black Maya Mist and added a few enamel dots in the upper corner for a little sumthin' sumthin' {they appear to be navy in this photo but, they are black}.

My fabric is the red burlap which I think just makes the vases pop!!

Oh, and I finished off the inside too...

Perfect sentiment, IMHO!!

Hope you find time to join us, and...

hope it tickles!!

Still "trying" to dabble in CAS design. And I hadn't inked up my new Waltzingmouse Stamps Funky Feathers so....

Maybe I don't do a lot of CAS since I have a really hard time photographing white!! Used the colors from the ColorQ challenge for this week. Stamped the feathers onto an oval nestie and layered onto a deckled oval nestie and popped up with foam dots.

Used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch but, missed the deadline.... needed some help with the CAS design and they have fabulous sketches!!

Strong and COURAGEOUS

I had to play in the inaugural Curtain Call challenge...used to play in the original and Stacey has revitalized the challenge...and Verve is the kickoff sponsor soo....

It's everything nautical...

Used Verve's Strong Anchor and papers from Fancy Pants- Down by the Shore to create my card. The sentiment was stamped on Verve's Curvy Bookplate die and layered onto a nestie which was layered onto a Lil Inkers stitched circle die. Added a wheel and anchor using Verve's Nautical die set and the matching images from Strong Anchor. Sketch is Jen's from week 3 of the Verve's sketches on SCS.

Okay, okay.... I added a little red, but, it IS my favorite color and it IS a traditional nautical color!!

Also, linking up to the Simon Says Stamp challenge.... By the Sea. (used Fancy Pants Down by the Shore)

Smile!!

Smiling as I type this thinking of my "donkey" friend whom I won this set from as blog candy!! It was in celebration of her SCS dirtiness!!

Anyway, it was high time I did something with it.

This is a pretty CAS card for me!! I went with the Color Throwdown colors this week. Used Jen's Deconstructed sketch. Tried to think of something to do around those adorable cameras but, my mind was blank....ever have those days!!

'Kay how about some enamel dots...

Hope you had a relaxing WE and Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

on your special day!!

Combined the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board with this week's Retrosketch and made a fun little card!!

Not sure I will "evah" get tired of the Fresh Cut Florals and coordinating dies from WPlus9!! The stitched circles were created with Lil Inkers dies and the checked background {using SU crumbcake- stamped off every other row} uses WPlus9's Country Charm.

The sketch...

Dawn's Monday Mood Board...

I went with the colors {added crumbcake} and the flowers.

Checking the weather... we've been having a "boatload" of rain here in NC and it's getting in the way of cruising/chilling at the lake {well for some of us- and for others... in the way of skiing, tubing, and wakeboarding} but, it looks like this WE will be sunny!! My daughter and I were discussing tonite- we bought this great big ole' lounge {10 x 16} for those of us to lounge/relax/get sun/swim while the others are skiing, tubing, wakeboarding!! Just blow it up and anchor it- we're good to go!!

Hope you're having a great start to the week!! Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Strong Anhcor- Verve Week 1

Happy Friday!!! I'm hoping for a little sunshine this weekend so we can go cruising on the boat- hasn't worked out lately due to the NC rainy weather (last count was rainy 27 of last 31 days). We had a holiday WE last week (4 days off) and didn't try to go out on the boat until Sunday- it was a bit of a fiasco!! My SIL was determined to enjoy the lake in the rain- my DD and DH owe me big time- I was the party pooper that said it's time to go in!!

Anyway-thinking of all things nautical... here's my card for Verve's week 1 sketch (SCS Verve forum- weekly sketches- participate in all 4 and post and you could win big!!)

Played with Verve's Strong Anchor set and Nautical dies. Aren't the wheel and anchors adorable and the sentiment is fabulous!! Love the rope image (circle used here). Papers are Fancy Pants Down by the Shore- perfect with these images, IMHO!!

Happy 5th Year Anniversary Color Throwdown!!

If you are looking for my Serendipity Stamps post, please scroll down, or click here.

YES, that's correct- it is the Color Throwdown's 5th Year Annivaersary!! Whoo Hoo!! That's a long time for a challenge blog, IMHO,  and they are celebrating!!

As part of the celebration previous DT members and Guest Designers were invited to join in. I was a Guest Designer last year [and had a fabulous time BTW} so of course, I wanted to join the fun!!

This week's colors were picked by Lori and it is a summertime theme.

When I first saw the colors and image.... I soooo wished I had some flip flop stamps/dies {I'll be rectifying that soon, LOL} Not just for the image but, I AM a summer flip flop kinda girl!!

What I do have are these fabulous stamps by Waltzingmouse-- My Island. .

How perfect are these stamps.... screams summer!! I stamped the solid image and sun image with melon mambo and so saffron- cut them out to make corners behind the focal image. Aren't those palm trees wonderful and the font on the sentiment- to die for!! Distressed some edges, added a few buttons and some twine. Fun!!

Okay- now to the nitty gritty- there are prizes, I believe, lots of prizes to be given away this week!!Check out all the details on the Color Throwdown blog!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge # 15

Serendipity hosts a challenge every two weeks....

Today is the start of the next challenge. This time we are taking our inspiration from stamps. You can check the link here for ideas or search the web and find your own!!

I went with the first stamp/s I saw at the link- LOVE me some orange and green. There is  yellow and red in there but, these were the colors that jumped out at me!!

I stamped the seed packet image with memento tuxedo black onto XPress It Blending cardstock and colored with copics. Added some black rhinestones to the center of the marigolds. The spellbinders wonky rectangle was embossed with swiss dots {never get tired of dots} and layered with foam dots onto a panel of patterned paper. Added a ruffled ribbon in green and orange seam binding with bow.

Finished off the inside with a fabulous Serendipity sentiment- perfect at my house right now!! We have had a bumper crop of squash, zucchini, and cukes- sharing with my daughter/her family as well as several neighbors!!

Hope you find time to join us, and...

Happy Birthday Stacey and Congrats to MOJO Monday!! We're talking 300 sketches... WOW!!Honestly, I think that MOJO Monday and Stacey's original challenge blog {curtain call color challenge} were the first blog challenges I ever played in!! And they're both celebrating so....

The MOJO has been on vacation {wish I had been too, LOL. at the beach to be specific!} but, I did some layering-stitching-die cutting- and came up with this. There's some of my favorite Verve on this card! Well. honestly I have a bunch of favorite Verve.

Stamps- leaves Dream Big, flowers Lean On Me, sentiment Small Celebrations and dies-Banner Bundle, Flag It, and Pointed Flowers.
