Color Throwdown #362- Blessed!!

Good Wednesday Morning and welcome to this week's colors at The Color Throwdown. I am the host this week and I picked some wonderful fall colors. Well, at least I thought I did, anyway :)

Isn't that cake scrumptious!!

Here's my card...

WPlus9's Doodle Buds arrived on my doorstep this week and I couldn't wait to ink them up. The background panel was created with the smooshing technique on watercolor paper. Each image was stamped on a watercolor square using Cherry Lynn dies. Colored with SU and Zig Clean Color Brush markers. Added some Heidi Swapp gold spray- it got away from me a little bit :)

a whole latte love!!

Verve Stamps, one of the sponsors for the Fall Coffee Lovers blog hop has a free digi... so of course, I had to play!!

The sentiment and those sweet coffee mugs are part of the download. You can get yours here

Another card for the Fall Coffee Lovers blog hop...

I'm trying to get around to as many blogs as I can... there are so many entries and so many fabulous cards!!

Used this week's Viva la Verve sketch for the layout.... switched the oval vertical instead of horizontal to fit the sentiment.

I made another card using the digi...

And used Verve's week 1 sketch... which I love, I just didn't love this card. It's just not balanced- but, those sweet mugs are part of the free digi-- don't you love those leaves!!

Coffee and doughnuts!!

Happy Friday evening!! I'm so happy it's Friday... it's been a rough week... well, actually we are now into Saturday morning... i told ya' it's been a rough week :)

Last night I had a chance to play a little... good therapy...

Here's my card...

The layout is this week's CAS(e) this sketch. I stamped the coffee cups and doughnuts from Walzingmouse Stamps- We Go Together and colored with copics. Added crystal effects to the doughnut icing (maple iced- Dunkin donuts)!! The sentiment is from the same WMS set. I added a little trim piece on the left using Waltzingmouse stamps Reverse Crackle background.

Here's a little close-up of that "glaze" on my doughnuts!!

I made this card for the following challenges...

Couldn't miss out on the Fall Coffee Lovers blog hop...

Here's the sketch...

Tag You're It!!

Busy, Busy summer and not a lot of time to play in all the challenges I would like to! It happens, right?!?  I LOVE to make tags but, haven't had a chance to lately- they're like little works of art and so handy to add to packages....

My sweet friend Jeanne has the featured Tag over on the Tag You're It Challenge  AND Serendipity Stamps is the sponsor this week... AND summer is over (my busy time) so I had a chance to play along.

Here's Jeanne's for inspiration...

Here's mine....

So... I started out in a whole different direction... you'll see that tag another day and drifted back to using the colors and Leave dies at Serendipity Stamps. The tags were created with a Pretty Pink Posh die- Stitched Duo 3 (sold at Serendipity Stamps). The Thank You is from Serendipity too. The orange leaf was created by smooshing distress inks onto a craft mat and then die cutting.

Color Throwdown #361- unsupervised!!

Good Wednesday Morning and welcome to this week's colors at The Color Throwdown. Tammy picked the colors this week.

Isn't this room pretty! Love these colors!!

I inked up these sweet TH Crazy Birds doing a little masking and colored with my Zig Clean Color Brushes. Still learning to use these! The sentiment is from Dylusions Say It How It Is which I stamped heat embossed with clear embossing powder and cut up. The actual sentiment is.... "I am currently...." but, since I had two crazy birds I cut off the "I am" and added a line with my Copic multiliner.

Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge- Backgrounds!!

Good Wednesday Morning!! Can you believe it is almost the end of September... Halloween is just around the corner!! We have finally cooled off here in the Carolinas with some high 70's to low 60's temps and the leaves are starting to turn!!

SSCB#47 -  Backgrounds!  This month we're asking you to put away the patterned paper and create your own background.  There are so many popular techniques - watercolor, multiple stamped images, distress - the choice is yours - any theme - any occasion - just make sure you include at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your design!!

This time I went "full on" fall and used the Japanese Maple stamp. First I created a watercolored background and then stamped the maple leaf in SU Soft Suede. I added the new Blessings die cut for the sentiment- layering in three colors. Lastly, I added some wood grain sequins that are sold in the Serendipity store.

Here's a little close up of the stamp, sequins, and layered sentiment.

The Details: Our favorite design will receive our winner blog badge and one random winner of this challenge will receive a $20 discount off their next order from Serendipity Stamps. You have until midnight US Eastern Standard Time on October 5 to link your project. The winner and our next challenge will be posted on October 7.

Want to go shopping? The 50% off Stamp of the month for September is the Japanese Maple (shown above).

We have a very special guest this month! Say hello to Diane Jaquay of It's All About the Art blog! I think you're going to love Diane's style!

Happy Birthday!!

I started this card quite a while ago-just picked out papers, dies, and stamps but, never put it together/finished it. Do you ever get distracted and then not have a chance to finish a card???

Anywho I decided to finish it up....

The papers are Echo Park Splendid Sunshine and all the rest is Verve!! I used the stamp from Poppy Birthday and heat embossed with white onto a Joyful Blooms die (layered). The sentiment from Poppy Birthday was stamped on a banner from the Flag It die set and the leaves were die cut with Dreamy Leaves.

I finished this up to participate in the SSS Wednesday Challenge- Die Crazy.

The Show Must Go On....

Had a little idea running around in my head when I saw the current Curtain Call Challenge and sketch from CAS(e) this sketch... had some time last night to play..

This sweet clown penguin is from The Cats Pajamas.... adorable!! The stars and circles (some half stamped) are from the PTI Celebrate set. Circus- popcorn- I turned the circus stand upside down, colored with copics and added a little popcorn!! In my mind you have popcorn at the circus.... even though I know there are lots more "fancy treats" out there now!

Here's the sketch... I veered off a little but, I think the collage look is still there with a main focus!!

Hope you had a great WE... relaxing!!

Color Throwdown #360- Mad Props!!

Good Wednesday Morning and welcome to this week's colors at The Color Throwdown. Monika is back from a little break and brought us the colors this week.

There's purple... yes, I am working hard on getting over that :) The inspiration pic is gorgeous and I love these colors... I just struggle with purple... I know it's my problem!

You could create a gorgeous color washed background with these colors with a black silhouette image- not sure why I didn't think of that to begin with, but, here's my card....

I did practice some coloring with copics using this sweet Saturated Canary image called "Diane". The sentiment is from a fun Paper Smooches set called "Uplifters". There's a story behind the "mad props" sentiment- suffice it to say I didn't know the slang.. but, yes I DO know what a "hashtag" is for!!

Here's another angle showing the shaker part of the card...

My shaker cards in the past didn't cover such a large area so I got a little carried away with the gold beads:)

No Lion....

Did you have a good Monday? Mine went very quickly at work- gotta' love that!! Well, there was a bit of a glitch at the end of the day when the servers went out and I couldn't work on the computer.. I work on a computer....

Anywho, here's a clean and layered card I made for this month's Reverse Confetti SFYTT challenge and the SSS Wednesday challenge to use a stamp/blog hop!!

I stamped this sweet lion and balloons onto XPress It Blending cardstock and colored with copics. The background panel is from one of Reverse Confetti's Quick Card Panels.

Well, it also counts for Darnell's NBUS challenge- used two new RC stamps sets- Leaping Lions and Monkey Business (balloons) along with the coordinating dies. Well, I have had them for a while but, they have never seen ink- that's why Darnell's challenge is so motivating... get out those stamps you just HAD to have (I understand this completely)!!

Give Thanks!- Viva la Verve

Hey, Happy Saturday! This is the first WE in a month that I have had a chance to play just for fun!! Went to the beach- gulf coast of FL-LOVE!! Then came back and went camping with the crew!! My crew... that is! Two girls and many years later... we have a large group.

Sorry, got off on a tangent1

So, I have been purging a little in the craft room and went to IKEA to add another 9 drawer unit to my space... I have had an addiction to patterned paper- still do a little but, not as bad and I came across these papers and wanted to play with the Verve Diva Inspirations Challenge and this week's Viva la Verve week 2 sketch...

I know... totally jumping ahead of the seasons but... I had these papers on my desk and this cutie patootie turkey (girl turkey since I was checking my spelling and learned that patootie means "pretty girl") was just staring me in the face... Stamped the image with SU Early Espresso onto XPress It Blending Cardstock, colored with copics and fussy cut. I took a little liberty with the sketch- hoping you can see the basics though!! The turkey and sentiment are from Bountiful Harvest.

Color Throwdown- Missing You!

Good Morning!! Did you enjoy the long holiday weekend (here in the states at least)!! I sure did- we went camping. There were 12 of us and it was a blast!! More dishes to do but, just didn't seem to mind- split up chores (those that cook don't do dishes). Roasting marshmallows, making s'mores, ....

Anyway, you're here to see the next set of colors for the Color Throwdown... Lori picked the colors this week!! Aren't they fabulous and those sweet birdhouses!!

Here's my card....

I was lucky to get a picture!! I went on a beach trip and was home for three days and then went on the camping trip. Went to make the card and photo and the camera battery was dead. Nothing like charging it a little.... taking a couple pics....put on the charger again.... edit pics and don't like... taking a couple pics.... you get the idea!! I did the best I could.

I played with my new Altenew Stamp- Golden Garden- such a lovely watercolor look. Now, on the back of the stamp set there are diagrams to show you how to combine them- makes it a little easier!! Sentiment is from Altenew's Label Love.

I played with another image from the Autumn Pops set- LOVE!! I stamped the flowers with versamark and heat embossed with gold. Then I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Brush Makers- the colors are so bright in real life!! I'm having a camera battery issue tonight!!
