Color Throwdown #445

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Jodi!!

How gorgeous are these colors- very elegant!!

So, I used some Altenew stamps and dies again this week- love their flower sets!! For this one I stamped the outline from Painted Flowers with versamark onto watercolor paper and heat embossed with gold. Next I painted the flowers using dark blue inks (actually navy but, you know colors always change a little with watercoloring). The sentiment is from Painted Greetings.

Some inspiration...

Color Throwdown #444

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Amy Rohl!!

Love these colors together!!

I went with a soft look using Altenew sets/dies. The leaves were stamped with new leaf ink onto watercolor paper and then watercolored softly with the same color. They were stamped again and watercolored and die cut with the matching die and layered "offset" on top. Leaves are from Golden Garden. Next, I stamped a sentiment from Painted Greetings using my misti so I could get good coverage. The flower is from Altenew's Adore You with smoky ink and die cut with the matching die. It was layered over the leaves-popped up on foam.

Color Throwdown #443

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Broni!!

How's that for a fun tropical palette or spring flowers or.... whatever you wish!!

The background was created with MFT's new cloud stencil and Beach Scene Builder dies. Next I die cut some of those sweet Birdie Brown Penguins, die cut with the matching dies  and did a little copic coloring. Added the sentiment from the same set.

Some inspiration...

The design team will be showing you the latest products and offering a chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.

So I played with this month's Stamp of the Month..... Simple Flower Cling Set- 50% off!!

So I made a set of note cards. These are 4.25 x 4.25. I die cut a panel slightly smaller than the card base, die cut the center with a stitched outline for a little something, stamped the sentiments, stamped the flowers and colored the images with copics. The stitched panel with the sentiment was layered on top with foam tape for a little dimension.

Here's the link to the Words and Verse section at Serendipity Stamps.... there're so many great choices!!

Color Throwdown #442

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by our boss- Barbara. I say our "boss" but, we all know they come in different flavors!! Hers is the Italian ice yummy kind of boss :-)  That sounds a little creepy but, Bar goes on these fabulous trips and this is one of her fav deserts! Barbara is the glue for this challenge- she works so hard behind the scenes to keep everything running- from posting to several different social media sites to reminding us of what we need to work on (guests, colors etc.). This post is for her to say "A Million Thanks" for everything thing you do- Love ya!!

She picked some fabulous neutral colors!!

So, since it was in honor of Bar- I had to pull out MFT stamps and dies (her second love-or should I say third- we have to think of hubs and the kitties you know!!)

The background was created with MFT's Stitched Dome Stax and Stitched Dome Stax frames. I popped up a frame inside a larger dome for a different layout. Next I die cut several leaves and flowers from MFT's Pretty Posies and stamped using the Pretty Posies stamps. The sentiment is from MFT's Essential Sentiments.

Again.... A MILLION THANKS for all you do for us!!

Color Throwdown #441

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Amy Rysavy.

How sweet are all those balloons!!

I created a sweet scene using a few things from MFT. The bunny and bear were die cut using MFTs Snuggle Bunnies die-namic, stamped using the Snuggle Bunny stamps, colored with copics and set aside. I die cut two panels from the Stitched Dome Stax and a cloud from the Stitched Cloud Edges. On one of the domes I sponged a bit of blue. Layered it all- added a little grass from a "very old" grass die-namic, added the sentiment and adhered all with a few layers "popped" of with foam for dimension.

Some inspiration...

Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop!!

Welcome, Welcome to May- well, it's not May Day (May 1st) but, close enough- everyone should start to be feeling a bit of spring by now (I hope anywho!!)

It's time for the Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop! We're changing it up this year- there will be two hops each month as usual and there will be opportunities to win $ to purchase Serendipity Stamps. The design team will be showing you the latest products and offering a chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.

You should have arrived here from Julie's blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below.

So, first I have to say this didn't quite turn out like I envisioned but, that happens sometimes :-) Love this Floral Cuts Background die!!! I die cut with white cardstock and then, randomly added some sponged color with inks over the different flowers- it was a bit too "stark" so I sprayed with water several times- dabbing off ink in between sprays. Then, I "pulled up" some of the petals to add a little dimension- adding enamel dots in the centers to draw attention to the individual flowers.

I added a contrasting colored paper background so it would "peek through" underneath the petals. Next time, I might try using a rainbow gradient in softer colors. Love how you this die covers the whole background and at the same time you can add some dimension by lifting the petal parts.

For this card, I stamped the Roller Coaster image from the Roller Coaster cling set in memento tuxedo black and colored with copics. Added a stitched frame, popped up with foam, and the sentiment from the same set. Notice how the sentiment is a little "off"--- well, that fits!! The other sentiment in the set is wonderful too... Soar Through the Peaks and Hold Hands Through the Dips!!

Looking for some awesome inspiration?
